I am Vengeance, I am The Night, I am Batman...Robert Pattinson
After his role as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005), Robert Pattinson quickly became a film standout at the age of 19. He would soon reach greater, international heights of fame with his lead performance as Edward Cullen in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight franchise which garnered $3.3 billion in box office receipts. His unrecognizable role as an explorer in the amazon jungle in The Lost City of Z (2016) from director James Gray brought him much critical acclaim. His transformation to a sleazy, manic conman in the gritty crime thriller Good Time (2017) earned a six-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival and brought him a nomination for Best Actor at the Independent Spirit Awards. It was a major step for his transition into a character actor with incredible range, with critics calling his performance a revelation and career-defining.
With this incredible success came constant requests for autograph appearances and signings, yet Rob chose to focus on his career and craft. He continued with a leading role in Christopher Nolan's time bending spy film Tenet (2020) and in 2022, Rob brought his career to stellar new fandom with his acclaimed performance as the DC Comics superhero Batman in Matt Reeves' film The Batman. Presently grossing over $770.8 million worldwide, Pattinson and The Batman received international acclaim as a fresh, new Caped Crusader, with approval ratings of 85% on Rotten Tomatoes, 84% on Google and 7.9/10 on IMDb. Sampling of critics comments include...
"Robert Pattinson does a phenomenal job as the caped crusader, so much so that when you look at batman, you also see Bruce Wayne and his inner torment and darkness lurking within.” - Pranav Athreya, Google Reviews
"telling a solid new Batman story, one with some pretty compelling twists and a strong point-of-view on who, exactly, the Caped Crusader is. By default, that makes it one of the better Batman movies ever made.” - Liz Shannon Miller, Consequence
“Rob Pattinson was a good Batman, but was the best Bruce Wayne”, - Ian Stewart, Lions Roar News
"Director Matt Reeves and brooding star Robert Pattinson see the Caped Crusader as more film-noir detective than comic-book hero in their mesmerizing mindbender” - Peter Travers, ABC News
